EPA / CPA - Cumbria County players get call to attend England Trials - 09 December 2022
Congratulations to Dawn Wright (Ladies) and Julian Stobbart (Seniors ) who have been chosen to attend the EPA England Team Trials in March 2023 in Suffolk. They have been chosen to attend through their performances during the 2022 County season. Well done to both and good Luck in March.
EPA - Change of Ruleset to Internatinal Rules for 2023 - EPA EGM - 03 December 2022
Following the EPA EGM today, held vurtually, EPA County Matches and Interleague competitions going into 2023 will be played to "International Rules". This is the first chnage to the playing ruleset at the EPA for around 25 years when World Rules were originally brought in.

EPA & Ultimate Pool Group ( UPG ) - EPA EGM - 24 September 2022
Following the EPA EGM today, held in Stoke-On-Trent, the provisonal Collaboration Agreement and Contract between the two parties was agreed. This will now go forward to the planning stage to put systems in place to facilitate the rollout in January 2023.

EPA - National Interleague Finals - 02-03 April 2022
Four Interleague teams from Cumbria made the trip down to the Pontins Souhtport Holiday Park, Southport to represent Cumbria in the IL Finals from 2021 IL season. The teams were Kendal A, Kendal B, Aspatria A & Aspatria B.
EPA & Ultimate Pool Group ( UPG ) - Announcement of a new partnership - 12 March 2022
Following the EPA AGM today, held in Stoke-On-Trent and after a presentation made by Mark Quirk of UPG, an agreement in principle has been agreed between the two parties. It is proposed that this straegic tie-up will look to continue growth and development of 8-ball pool from grass roots level up to the professional.

Congratulations to Aspatria A Interleague team for winning the Cumbria Interleague for 2021. This years Iinterleague compatition was held over a single day due to Covid-19 concerns and was held at The Qzone, Carlisle. The IL Player of the Year was Richard Forrester ( Penrith ) with 9 wins from 10 frames.
The final Table was Apatria A, Carlisle, Aspatria B, Kendal B, Penrith & Kendal C ( see IL results page ).

CPA - CORONAVIRUS ( Covid-19 ) PANDEMIC - July 2021
Whilst the easing of some of the Coronavirus ( Covid-19 ) restrictions has occured, Cumbria County teams will NOT play any County games for the remainder of 2021.
CPA - CORONAVIRUS ( Covid-19 ) PANDEMIC - May 2021
With the easing of some of the Coronavirus ( Covid-19 ) restrictions, access to indoors of premises is now permitted. Some National events are due to re-commence in June 2021. It is hoped that CPA events will be re-commenced in July 2021 with County matches in August 2021.

CPA - Interleague 2020 - December 2020
One round of the CPA IL competition 2020 was undertaken on 01st March 2020 prior to the Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions being in place. Whilst the easing of some of the Coronavirus ( Covid-19 ) restrictions has occured at periods during the year, the event was abandoned for the year.
CPA - County Doubles competition 2020 ( Nov / Dec 2020 ) - Cancelled
Despite rearranging the dates for this competition, due to Covid-19 restrictions, this event is cancelled for 2020.
CPA - County Mens Singles competition 2020 - 18 October 2020
Congratulations to the winner of the Cumbria County Men's ingles competition, Garry Southern, retaining the title, beating Kevin Kirkham, 6-1 in the final. The entry to the event was capped at 32 players ( due to Covid-19 restrictions ). The competition was run as a straight knockout going through to the final. The competiton was played at The Albion Social & Snooker Club, Kendal under Covid-19 Guidelines and procedures in force at the time of the event.
CPA - County Seniors Singles competition 2020 - 06th September 2020
Congratulations to the winner of the Cumbria County Seniors Singles competition, David Thompson, retaining the title, beating Nigel Greer, 7-6 in the final. 12 players entered the competition, starting off in groups of 3, then going through to a Semi-final and final. The competiton was played at The Albion Social & Snooker Club, Kendal under Covid-19 Guidelines and procedures in force at the time of the event.

Congratulations to the winner of the Cumbria County Under 23s Singles competition, Ryan Nightingale beating Will Ellison in the final at The Albion Social & Snooker Club, Kendal.
CPA - Interleague Knockout - 02 February 2020
Congratulations to Kendal A Interleague team for winning the Cumbria Interleague Knockout Cup beating Aspatria A in the final by 10 frames to 7 on Sunday 02nd February 2020 ( and retaining the title ). 6 teams entered the competition this season, Aspatria A, Aspatria B, Egremont, Kendal A, Kendal B and Penrith which was held at The Albion Social & Snooker Club, Kendal. The 6 teams were placed into 2 groups of 3 and played a round robin format, with the top 2 teams playing in the final and 2nd placed teams going into a playoff for 3rd place. The 3rd place playoff was played out by Kendal B and Aspatria B with Kendal B winning 14 frames to 4.
The final Table was Kendal A, Apatria A, Kendal B, Aspatria B ( Penrith & Egremonbt tied ).

EPA - National Interleague Knock Out Finals - October 2018
Two Interleague teams from Cumbria made the trip down to the Vauxhall Holiday Park, Great Yarmouth to represent Cumbria in the IL Finals this year. The teams were Workington JJ's and Aspatira.
CPA - Interleague Finals Day - 23 September 2018
As a change to the standard format for the IL, this year matches were initially played on a home or away basis then a Super Sunday final day was held at the Portland Snooker Club in Carlsile. On the final day all the teams played each other to conclude the season and give the winner of the 2018 IL competition. The IL Player of the Year was Alan Mcleod ( Workington JJ's ) with 13 wins.
Congratulations to Workington JJ's Interleague team for retaining the Cumbria Interleague title with Aspatria coming a close second, only on frame difference..
Region 2 Select Team v England - 28 July 2018
Congratulations to the ladies and gents who played in Region 2 Select teams playing against the England teams in Dishers at Crewe.
Lesley Holder and Dawn Keeling represented the ladies and John Martin and Kevin Potts played for the Seniors. Lesley mangaed to win all her 3 games and Kevin won 3 from 4.

EPA Grand Prix Event ( National events ) - 2016
Ladies Event -
Dawn Wright qualified through the Regional Competition to go to the National Ladies Grand Prix Finals. At the National Finals, Dawn managed to come second in the group stage and progressed to the Quarter Finals. Sadly Dawn was beaten in the QF but a great effort.
Seniors Event -
Rob Sim qualified through the Regional Competition to go to the National Seniors Grand Prix Finals. At the National Finals, Rob managed to progress right through to the to the Semi-Finals only to be beaten by Keith Brewer but a great effort.
CPA - County Mens Singles competition 2016 - September 2016
Congratulations to the winner of the Cumbria County Mens Singles competition, Alan McLeod, beating Neil Armstrong 7-6 in the final.
EPA Grand Prix Event ( Regional event ) - August 2016
4 Lady players attended the Region 2 Grand Prix event at Ossett, West Yorkshire on behalf of Cumbria, these being Dawn Wright, Cath Jenkinson, Sarah Morley and Alison Walker. Dawn Wright managed to qualify through the competition to go forward to the National Grand Prix Finals.
2 Seniors players attended the Region 2 Grand Prix event at Rochdale on behalf of Cumbria, these being Rob Sim, John Martin, Phil Leary, Mark Knowles and Kevin Christian. Rob Sim managed to qualify through the competition to go forward to the National Grand Prix Finals.
EPA Grand Prix Event ( Cumbria qualifier ) - July 2016
10 Seniors players attended the Cumbria Grand Prix qualifier event which was held at Portland Club, Carlisle. After a full days competitive pool, Rob Sim, Paul Ruddick, John Martin and Phil Leary qualified through the competition to go forward to the Region 2 Grand Prix event in August 2016.

Congratulations to the winners of the Cumbria County Doubles competition, Dave Todd and Gavin Simpson, beating Stephen O'Hagan and Peter O'Hagan 6-4 in the final.
EPA - England v Region 2 Select team - Blackpool - June 2016
A Region 2 Select Team was formed from the EPA County database statistics between the 6 Region 2 counties to play the England team as a warm up to the 2016 World Championships.
Murray Aitken, Andrew Milliard and Kevin McMullen represented Cumbria as part of the Region 2 Mens team against the England Mens team.
Mark Knowles and Phil Leary represented Cumbria as part of the Region 2 Seniors team against a World Seniors select team.

The CPA AGM was due to be held on Sunday 06th December 2015 at Upperby Men's Institute at 1500hrs.

CPA - Resignation of Chairman - October 2014
It is with regret we have to announce, that Mark Knowles has resigned from the Chairmans role within the Cumbria Pool Association on Sunday 26th October 2014 with immediate effect.
On behalf of the Association, we would like to thank Mark for all his endeavours and considerable time and effort he has put in over the past 21 months or so for the Association and in particular with the county team setup, the Knockout competitions and the Interleague.
